Ameena Rasheed is an editor and writer who specializes in entertainment content and social media management. Currently based in Houston, she's had bylines in the Des Moines Register, Houston Press, Houston Chronicle (entertainment, fashion and more), National Association of Black Journalists and For Harriet.
This year, Ameena was named one of EBONY magazine's 10 Black Women to Know in Tech, PR and Digital Media and featured on The Muse to discuss job hunting as a young professional in the media industry. In 2016, she participated in the inaugural class of the Poynter-NABJ Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Media.
She graduated magna cum laude from Texas Southern University, where she earned an undergraduate degree in journalism and served as the editor-in-chief of the university's official student newspaper.
"Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison is her favorite song of all time. Whataburger, bubble tea, and pineapples on pizza are her greatest weaknesses.
